Update on relief and medical activities by Customs Health Care Society

Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) has always taken the lead to help the humanity in distress and regularly working in rescue, relief and rehabilitation for affectees.

2. Flood relief operations have been started in Sindh to help the humanity in distress. The relief teams of CHCS are busy in affected cities of Sindh and helping the flood victims. CHCS has provided food packets, installed water hand pumps, tents and medical cover to thousands of affectees.

3. Flood relief operations by the teams of CHCS are still continuing in flood affected areas of Pakistan. Thousands of flood affectees are still living without shelter and other basic necessities of life and need immediate help.

4. “Sharbat-e-Papita” introduced by CHCS is an effective remedy against Dengue Virus and has given a hope to the affectees and masses stricken with the fear of dengue fever. More than 15,000 patients using the syrup had shown rapid recovery.

6. Customs Health Care Society, Lahore has arranged Eid-ul-Adha Qurbani (Sacrifice) Project for flood affected areas of Sindh, Punjab and KPK on behalf of donors, same as last year. All the meat will be distributed among poor and needy families.
One Buffalo / cow = 60,000 PRs.
One goat / lamb = 20,000 PRs.
One share in buffalo / cow = 8,500 PRs.

7. Customs health care society in collaboration with philanthropist friends have been able to provide following facilities in different flood hit areas of Punjab and KPK last year.
(i) Distribution of relief goods worth Rupees 50 Million.
(ii) Examination / Treatment of 150,000 patients in flood affected areas.
(iii) Vaccination of thousands of children against water borne diseases.
(iv) Reconstruction / Construction of 7 Mosques.
(v) Establishment of 2 Primary Schools.
(vi) Establishment of 5 Apna Ghar Model Clinics in flood affected areas where hundereds of patients are being treated on daily basis.
(vii) Apna Ghar Housing Project for flood affectees in Nowshehra, Charsadda, Peshawar and Bahrain, Swat of KPK. 250 houses completed so far and construction work in Bahrain Swat is in progress.
(viii) Apna Ghar Housing Project in MuzaffarGarh, Punjab. 150 houses have been completed. Construction work on more houses in progress.

Ghulam Hassans and Asghari Mais need your attention

Ghulam Hasan was living happily with his family before 209th July 2010 in his mud house. The July 2010 floods devsted the most part of Southern Punjab. The mud house of Ghulam Hasan was swept away with all his belongings. He along with his 5 kids and wife has to live under open sky for months.
By the grace of Allah & kind support of philanthropist’s brothers/ sisters from Pakistan / Abroad, we have been able to provide much better accommodation to Ghulam Hasan and 400 similar families.
Ghulam Hasan is now happily living in his furnished new house, but many Ghulam Hasans & Asghari Mais are still living without shelter and needs your attention. One house for a family consisting of 8~10 people, costs Rs. 125,000/= (1436 US Dollar). The Ajar to donate during the Holy month of Ramadan is seventy times more as compared to other months.

Rebuild of reconstruction of 500 year old mosque right at the bank of River Kabul demolished due to floods


The 500 year old mosque right at the bank of River Kabul was completely demolished due to July 2010 devastating floods. We are thankful to Allah who gave us the courage and strength to rebuild this grand mosque with the help of donors / philanthropists from Pakistan and abroad. Primary school and a model clinic have also been started besides the mosque premises. CHCS is still continuing the rehabilitation efforts for the flood affectees. Hundreds of flood affectees are still living without shelters. The river Kabul which brought havoc last year is in full flow and with the start of early monsoon rains there is an imminent danger of this year also. We have also made plans to deal with emergency situation especially in our Apna Ghar Housing Projects areas, Noshehra, Charsadda, MuzaffarGarh, Bahrain, Swat (400 houses built so far). We have also placed order for a Mobile Health Unit cum Rescue Vehicle to deal with emergency situation in calamity hit areas.

APNA GHAR HOUSING PROJECT — BAHRAIN, SWAT.


After successfully completion of “APNA GHAR HOUSING PROJECT FOR FLOOD AFFECTEES” IN Nowshehra, Charsdda, Peshawar and MuzaffarGarh, the six phase of the project has been launched in Bahrain, Swat. Dr. Naeem of Bahrain is incharge of the project. Efforts are being made to construct beautiful houses for the deserving and needy flood affectees of Bahrain, Swat.
The Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) is the only organization which has been regularly working in rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees since 29th July, 2010 To Date.

Story of Kiran And Nadeem:



Kiran and Nadeem 7 & 8 Years of age, students of our newly established school belonged to Basti Muhammad Wala Sharqi. On 23rd May both the children returned happily from school. Mother was preparing food. Suddenly a thunder storm came. The wind was blowing at the speed of 100 Km/hour. The fire from the CHULHA (makeshift burner) spread within minutes. It engulfed everything. Mother immediately jumped out with her two little daughters(4 and 1 yeas of age). Nadeem embraced his sister Kiran and tried to run outside but the flame of the fire did not allow them to escape. Hearing the screams of his Children Sadiq Hussain (their father) jumped in the fire to save his Children. Within no time both little souls were burnt to ashes along with their dreams. People took out Sadiq Hussain who has aslo multiple burn injuries. The teams of Customs Health Care Society visited the place of incident on 27-May-2011, provided relief and financial support to the bereaved family. In this fire the whole basti consisting of 8 houses has been burnt. CHCS intends to re-construct this Basti.
One house costs approximately Rs. 150,000.
